An off-shoot of Ottawa art-rock collective Pony Girl, mal/aimé take the band's experimental chamber sound and run with it, combining clarinet, guitars, and percussion with synths, drones and electronics. As a recording project, the trio's output focuses primarily on etudes that experiment with short moments in time, unbound by the structural rules of their live performance.
